Varsity Head Coach

Ashleigh Scott

I have been teaching since 2015 when I left my job in corporate America and decided to follow my heart and pursue my passion. I teach sophomore English and absolutely love both my job and the students! I am also in graduate school at SHSU pursuing a Master’s Degree in English Literature. I was a competitive cheerleader from a very young age up through college so this is my dream job. When I am not teaching or coaching, I am spending time with my husband, Gentry, and our two kids, Rhyder and Paysli. They are both involved in competitive sports so they keep our weekends quite busy! I also enjoy reading, working out, going to concerts and binge watching true crime documentaries.

My teaching and cheer coaching career began in 2010.  I taught and coached until 2014 when I moved to The Woodlands area and focused on starting my family. I returned this past year, coaching JV and I have loved coming back to a great group of young ladies and gentlemen.  As the 2019 season begins, I will continue to coach JV Cheer and my tenth year in education. This will be my third year at The Woodlands High School as the ESL Coordinator. I am a mom to a wonderful little boy that my husband and I adore. I am looking forward to a season filled with laughs and great memories.

My entire teaching career has been with CISD. I am in my 17th year, and 14 of those years I have been coaching cheer. I was born and raised in Southeast Texas, and have lived in The Woodlands since 1989. I have three grown sons that grew up here, attended TWHS, played sports, were active in several school organizations, and ultimately graduated as Highlanders. Though a dancer in high school and college, I have a passion for cheer. I feel so extremely fortunate to teach and coach at TWHS, along with two outstanding cheer coaches!
